Frequently Asked Questions
Who can enrol in these courses?
Both courses are designed for general practitioners and other medical professionals with an interest in vestibular medicine. The Basic Course is open to all GPs, whatever your level of experience. The Advanced Course is for GPs who have completed the Basic Course (or have equivalent experience) and want to develop deeper vestibular skills.
How long does each course take?
The Basic Course is offered as either a 1-day in-person intensive or a 6-week self-paced online programme you can complete in your own time. The Advanced Course is a 3-day intensive or a 16-week programme, with a mentorship and clinical-placement component that typically extends over several months depending on your schedule.
What certification do I receive?
On completing either course you receive a Certificate of Completion from Australian Dizziness Clinics, reflecting the hours and subjects you have been trained in and your score from the assessments completed during the course.
Do I need to complete the Basic Course before the Advanced Course?
Yes — the Basic Course is the standard prerequisite for the Advanced Course. If you already have significant vestibular medicine knowledge or experience, you may be eligible for an exemption. Contact us on 02 6170 3351 or through our contact page to discuss your background.
Can I study while working as a GP?
Yes. The Basic Course is flexible, self-paced learning designed to fit around clinical practice. The Advanced Course combines structured learning with clinical placements, so you can keep working while you build your vestibular experience. Most GPs study part-time alongside their usual practice.
How do I access course materials?
All course materials — videos, audio modules, PDFs and clinical references — are freely available to everyone. By registering and enrolling, you gain access to software that tracks your progress through a series of assessments, which confirm that you understand the material. On completing the course, you receive certification reflecting the hours and subjects you have been trained in, along with your assessment score. You can learn on a desktop, tablet or phone, at a time that suits you.
What happens after I complete a course?
After the Basic Course you keep access to our education hub resources, and many GPs go on to the Advanced Course. Advanced graduates join a growing network of vestibular medicine doctors, with ongoing support, mentorship, updated resources, and the opportunity to work within our clinic network or a wider clinical environment.
